I bought this for my husband's laptop because I have one for my Macbook Pro that has lasted for more than a year (and I'm like the Samsonite gorilla with my laptop). My husband is much more careful and gentle with his computer which is why I figured it was a safe bet to buy for him. However, after just 3 months, one of the tabs broke off and now the whole shell hangs off of one corner.

Even that wouldn't merit a one star review except between the seller (Product Depot) and the manufacturer (Speck) I am stuck with no fair options for replacement or refund. Product Depot won't speak to you after 30 days and Speck requires you to ship them the product at your expense at which time they will "inspect" it and decide if you deserve a refund.

So BUYER BEWARE...the policies are stated, which would be fine if the product's quality matched its price. As it is, I don't really feel like paying the return shipping so Speck can "decide" if I deserve a refund or not. What a crummy way to treat customers. And I won't buy from Product Depot again either. I don't care for their heisman treatment.

It's a beautiful case. I'd love to say it was a fluke that it broke but I can't because I'm unable to exchange it for a new case. I've had it for just under a month on a computer that gets used 2x per week and the snaps that hold the bottom in place are broken. If I could exchange it maybe I could sing its praises but for now I'd have to recommend that anyone that wants a durable product that lasts look elsewhere.

First off, I love Speck products. I have been a fan since purchasing my first similar soft touch shell for My Macbook Pro 17" several years ago perfect fit and it stays on.

However, the Macbook Air shell, specifically the bottom piece, keeps slipping off when I carry the laptop. I am not sure if there is much that Speck or any other mfg can do about this, due to how thin the Macbook Air is. Just a little disappointing.

I had one of these on my MacBook Air previously but as with all things used for protection after awhile they tend to wear out and look shoddy. I bought this one to replace my old shell and must say that Speck has improved the overall quality of the See-Thru Satin Soft Touch shell. Great looking way to protect your MacBook.

Its a great case overall. The only downside to this case is when you set the screen to a specific angle, it may lean back without you touching it. The case adds weight to the screen. Other than that i recommend this case to anyone that wants to protect from a few dints and scratches.
