I bought this item and it didn't state the size of the sleeve. Saying it fits most 17" laptops, I decided to try it. The measurements of the sleeve empty, closed, and flat are 16" x 12". The case stretches because it is neoprene, but that will probably cause the seams to fail early if your laptop is much larger than the empty case dimensions. My 17" laptop is 16.75" long 11.5" wide 1.9" deep. That is a little larger (by 1/4" to 1/2" in length) than some 17" laptops I have seen. It does not fit in the case! Stretched and all, there just isn't enough room to hold it.
As to the quality, it looks well made and smells fine (like neoprene, but no bad odor). The zippers are surprisingly sturdy looking. The description says "neoprene lining, so the zippers don't make contact with your laptop." That might be true if the sleeve isn't stretched too far, but if your laptop is large and you have to stuff the laptop in the sleeve by stretching the neoprene, there could be contact with the zippers.
It looks as if it will protect the surface of the laptop and keep it from coming open after the zippers are closed. The price is remarkable for the item (less than 6$ after shipping). If your laptop will fit in the case easily, I think it is a good buy! If you laptop is a little too large for it, I would avoid it.

I bought this for my HP Pavilion 17" laptop. I was so disappointed that it didn't fit my 17 inch and I had to return it! It was about 1 inch too small to fit my laptop! Would probably work well for 15 inch laptops with the 9 cell batteries. It seems like a nice product for the price though, the complete unzipping all the way around would have been perfect, alot easier to use than those that only open on one end! Too bad it was too small :/

I'm a college student who purchased this sleeve to protect my 17 inch Dell laptop. I was sad to find that it wasn't even close to fitting my laptop so I had to return it. I would definitely use caution if buying this for a thicker laptop like my Dell Inspiron 17R. The construction wasn't anything special and it seemed like the zipper might scratch the laptop. So like I said again, buy at your own risk!

Excellent construction, great material quality, and unbeatable price. This is a $20 case for less than half the price. I bought two of them. Highly recommended. Interesting note: the dual zippers go all the way around like a suitcase.
