The dual density foam offers a lot of protection from minor dings and dents. I would never feel comfortable dropping my laptop, but this case probably offers some of the best protection you could find in a case like this. Brenthaven's commitment to lowering their environmental impact is also important. The rigid formed area that holds your laptop prevents it from moving around much at all, and it also prevents it from touching the zippers. I have the 13" MBP and it fits perfectly. The hand strap on the back of the case also works well for carrying the laptop, without danger of it slipping.

A lifetime guarantee isn't too shabby either.

-Con: The picture on Amazon shows little gray straps that hold the case onto the MBP screen, but the Brenthaven website shows the case without the straps -which is what I received. I fixed it by sewing a little piece of black elastic in the corner to do the same thing, although I usually just fold the case up under the laptop and it works just fine.

Buy it from Amazon, at the sale price, and you won't be disappointed. Brenthaven also carries several other cases/bags that are pretty sweetAmazon just offered a better price.

I bought this product around two months ago. Seller was great and the case is awesome! It's durability thus far is PERFECTION, doesn't have but two scratches on it and I can say that I've used it many, many times. I can throw it in my backpack and not have a care because I know my laptop is safe!

P.S. Better than the SPECK cases because it leaves your laptop in pristine condition! No rough edge scratches!

Just received it. My first thoughts:

Granted, it seems to be able to protect a laptop, that's obviously important, if not the most important thing, about such a product.

But, the "genuine leather", looks and feels like cheap bicycle tube. When it arrived the "genuine leather" had a lot of scratches. Taking a closer look had me realized that, besides for it being physically handled carelessly by amazon, the leather was of such cr*ppy quality, that it was inevitable that lots of scratches would appear in short time.

I suspect that after a short period of use, pulling it up from my backpack and down again, the "genuine leather" will start to tear off.

Of course, the leather could be considered a minor detail. But sometimes details can make or break a product. This detail, in my opinion, really catches the eye and thus ruins the overall look of the product.

Given that this is not a cheap product and that the internatinal shipping price is very high, this product is simply not worth it.

The two stars are because the case seem quite sturdy.

The materials used are very nice. The inside is a nice soft padding. I would however recommend having something like this with a pocked on the side that can hold a a few cables, pens, pencils, etc... Also it would be nice if it had a way to stay attached to the laptop when opened.

My laptop took about a 1 foot drop inside this case and inside my laptop bag. The screen cracked as well as the case bending. Pretty useless protection.
